Terrific Tuesday: Carving Time

I know I don't usually post on Tuesdays, but Halloween is tomorrow and I just had to get our carving pics up before then! Sunday afternoon we carved and painted our pumpkins in the front yard. Some neighbors and friends came over and did theirs too. The weather was perfect and everyone had a good time. We can't wait for tomorrow!

Misc. Monday: At The Patch

Lilly was sick this year when we planned on going to Tanaka Farms for our annual pumpkin patch visit, so we had to visit a local one instead. It was nice because the drive was short; it wasn't crowded and the girls got to have their own private time in a bounce house. All Henry wanted to do was eat the hay and smack the pumpkins. We got some great photos, picked up some dinner on the way home and called it a night. Done and done!

Sew Crafty Saturday: On My List

The new Land of Nod catalogue came and the girls circled all the things they want for Christmas. One of the items they are interested in is this adorable puppet theater. They are always putting on shows and I know they would use it, so it is now on my list of things to make. I'm so excited. I already found all the fabric I will need in my stash. The colors will be very gender neutral and I am planning on hanging it up in the door frame with a tension rod instead of the hooks they used. Now I have 2 months to get it done. The funny thing is, my list of things to make (or finish) just keeps getting longer and longer... Wish me luck!

Misc. Monday: Backyard Photoshoot

I would really like to take a photography class, not an online one, but a hands on "Do this" sort of class. I still haven't read the manual for my DSLR camera. I read all the time, but I'm a fiction kinda gal. Manuals are so boring! Here's my attempt at an outdoor photo shoot with Hendricks. I have so much to learn and have heard all about aperture, yet never take my camera off the manual setting. Good thing my model is so cute, otherwise you would notice how lacking the photography is. If you hear about a class or have some quick and easy tips, I'd love to hear about them.
**Bandanna bid made by me. Gorgeous cowboy quilt made by Aunt Cheryl. John Deere boots given by Wrather family.

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Tea Time

Saturday was girl's day out. My mom, sister, niece, and my little ladies dressed up to go to the theater. We had tea, played "Ariel" bingo, and saw a musical performance of The Little Mermaid. The girls were shockingly quiet during the entire event. I'm not sure if I over emphasised proper tea time etiquette or if having characters walking around kind of creeped them out. Either way, it was nice to be around such calm, well-behaved little ladies for a change.  :)

Sew Crafty Saturday: Boo To You!

Here's a few snapshots of our home this October. I started hanging up their old baby clothes a few holidays ago because they are just too cute to part with. I think they are perfect decorations. The house is also adorned with the girls' art projects and crafts. Iris is particularly fond of the clown hat she made for the rocking sheep!

Sew Crafty Saturday: A-mazing! (Guitar Builder Style)

Her request... "That'll look stinkin' cool!"

I don't know how many of you know this, but my husband is a guitar builder. He can take a piece of wood and turn into a functioning electric guitar. I know, it makes no sense to me either. Seriously, he is amazing! Lilly drew a picture of the guitar she wants, colored it in, and Dan is building it for her for her 6th birthday. I don't think she has any idea how rare this truly is. In her eyes, this is something Daddies do. She has no idea!
