Wee-Ones Wednesday: My Lil' Man

Hendricks is a boy through and through! After two girls, I am in constant amazement of what a little man he is. He climbs on furniture (& people). Throws everything. Loves to turn pages. Turns off the TV, computer, and cable box constantly. Drools so much that you'd think he must be dehydrated. Jumps off steps. Runs! Eats a ton. Screeches when he wants to let you know something. Is dirty five minutes after being dressed. Runs out the door the minute it is opened. Cries when the door shuts. Laughs when corrected or redirected. Has more bruises than the girls ever had. Loves balls and toys with buttons. Is a fine dancer, with some pretty sweet moves. And has completely stolen my heart!

Wee Ones Wednesday: Just Dance

Lilly and Iris had their year end dance recital on Sunday. The girls were wonderful. Their fans filled up an entire row, and they couldn't have been more proud. Bravo, ballerinas, bravo!

Misc. Monday: Namesake

This is Howard Hendricks West, Dan's grandfather and Grammy's dad. His mother was Mabel Hendricks, and Dan named our boy: Hendricks California Michael.

This is Dan getting Hendricks used to sitting in a pot.

This is Dan and Iris showing Hendricks how fun it is to sit in a pot.

This is Henry thinking it is no fun to sit in a pot.

This is Iris showing Henry it is nothing to cry about (and yes, her shirt is off... her idea).

This is Hendricks thinking that it is much more fun watching Daddy run while standing in a pot.

This is after we decided giving him a cookie may make him sit down in the pot.

This is as good as it gets.

This is Dan's cheer of success. Hope Grammy loved her Mother's Day photo!

Misc. Monday: Best One Yet!

My Mother's Day was amazing! I slept in until 8am, and upon being woken up by the cutest little faces ever, was escorted out our back door to the prettiest breakfast table I have ever seen. Dan really outdid himself this year. He brought home scrumptious cakes and cookies from Zov's (if you have never been, you need to go) and decorated the backyard beautifully. I was Showered with gifts, sweet hand made ones (finger print art, poems, painting, & cards) house ones (big M & bird bath), and surprise ones ( a gorgeous ring)! Then I was whisked off to lunch and Anthropologie where I was bought a new dress. Back at home, Dan  BBQ's steak and shrimp for dinner. I am one very blessed Mama!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Where Mother's Day & Pinterest Meet

The girls made some platters for Mother's Day for their three grandma's and me. I used the Sharpie technique that I found on Pinterest. Lilly did all the writing, Iris drew the pictures, and I baked the platters at 350 degrees for a half hour to set the ink. Apparently, if you hand wash them, the images will stay forever. They are super cute! I had a hard time deciding which one to keep for myself.

We also made some small bowls using air dry clay, metal letter stamps, and all three kids' thumbprints. I envisioned them being placed by the kitchen sink and holding rings while grandmother's washed their hands. The bowls turned out all right. I smoothed the edges down a bit with an emery board after they dried. It was a bit harder than I thought it would be. They are cute, but I'm not sure how useful they will be... Either way, I know they will be loved. These were the gifts from the kids, Dan and my gifts for our mother's were purchased of course! It was so much fun crafting and creating with the kids and we have tons more Pinterest projects we want to try this summer. Happy Mother's Day! xoxo

Misc. Monday: First Date

Lilly told Dan this is how she wanted to dance at the Father Daughter Dance at her school, but when they got there, she decided not to dance because it was "too loud."

Such a cute couple.

Is this what taking prom pictures of her will be like?

I couldn't resist driving up to school and snapping a few photos.

It was so pretty!

Lilly was very proud of her first corsage.

Gotta love photo booth pics!
