Misc. Monday: At The Patch

When did bounce houses become synonymous with pumpkin patches? Whatever the reason and whenever the time, we love it. Bouncing, petting zoos, pumpkins, and hay bails, OH MY!

Sew Crafty:" What Does the Fox Say?" Sweatshirt

I saw a similar sweatshirt on Pinterest, and knew it was something I would enjoy making. I bought a hooded sweatshirt for the boy at Target and went to work. I drew my own fox pattern (making a few changes) and used scraps I had left over from Henry's fox quilt. The end result is adorable! It cost me $10 to make and was so much fun for me. I really enjoy the process of drawing out patterns for applique, and can't wait to get Hendricks into his new hoodie.

Wee-Ones Wednesday: First Haircut

Hendricks got his first haircut today! I've been bugging Dan to get it done for what seems like forever now. He was resistant because Henry is "just a baby," and "there's no rush." I finally talked him into it, and I'm sad. He was right. This was the last "first haircut" any of my babies will ever receive.  He looks like a (little) big boy. He didn't even cry or want me to hold him. I already miss those long red curls. It may very well be a long time before he gets his hair cut again!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Monster Cakes

I made these monster cakes as a little "to go" favor for the play date on Monday. I saw them on Pinterest of course, but modified them a bit. I used plastic straw because they are cheap, and preschoolers don't care about the coolness of paper straws. I also used candy we had for the eyes,  instead of Wilton candy eyes. They were super cute and didn't cost a bundle. Don't laugh, but I also used a Michaels craft store coupon for the gel icing! My girlfriend brought over the adorable cuties, and we had the best time.

Wee Ones Wednesday: Halloweeny Playdate

Monday, Iris and I hosted and Halloween crafty play date for some of her girlfriends. She was so very excited to be the oldest girl, and thoroughly enjoyed being a helper. They bowled with mini pumpkins, made bats and spider hats, ate theme-y treats, played, and watched the Sophia the First Halloween episode. Hendricks even cooperated by taking a nap, and the mommies had a chance to catch up, giggle, and eat a couple of cupcakes while drinking coffee. Mornings like that one make me feel truly blessed to work part time.
