 and were very sweet!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Vacation Here We Come!

Our first official week of summer was spent in Palm Springs with two of our favorite familes. Most of our time was spent at the pool, and the kids couldn't be happier. Our fair, little girls did pretty well in the 100+ degree heat, only melting down a bit here and there. :) Henry was just perfect. He slept most of his poolside time asleep in his stroller under a wet towel. Don't tell anyone, but he is my favorite.

Misc. Monday: Our Little Star

Lilly had her first dance recital yesterday. She really enjoyed being in the the spotlight and even thanked God for the expereince in her bed time prayers. (Which made us smile since she had been saying she didn't want to do it for days).
I volunteered to be a backstage mom, which had its perks. I got to take pictures since cameras were not allowed in the theater. Aren't the girls adorable?

Sew Crafty Saturday: Ice Painting

Summertime outdoor fun = frozen ice in Popsicle holders.

No one complaints of cold hands and you get to paint over and over again because the colored construction paper dries in the sun. Super fun!

Fab Find Friday: XOXO Photo Idea

I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to do it with my little man. The girls helped me kiss him all over. He loved it!! Dan says he is going to hide all these pics for Henry when he is 13. Ha Ha. Why, I wonder???

Fab Find Friday: Lil' Sis

I suppose this is a stretch, but I consider my sister a fab find! She's smart, sassy, generous, and fun to be around. She's definitely the best gift my parents ever gave me, and she turned 33 this week. Happy birthday, Penny. I love you!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Goodbye Preschool...

Last night was Lilly's end of the year play at preschool. She represented the country of Ireland and told the audience "Hello" in Irish.
This morning, there was a little graduation ceremony. Lilly was acting really strange when she came out on stage and walked up to get her diploma. She was sullen, quiet, and would not look at us. Her behavior was completely different from the night before when she was smiling, laughing, and singing her lungs out.

When we went to her classroom afterwards, she burst into tears. She did not want to take a picture with any of us, only with her teacher. Mrs. Barillier gave her a hug and a little pep talk about Kindergarten.

My eyes filled with tears as I watched my first baby's heart break at the idea of saying good bye to something she loves so much!

Good bye sweet, wonderful, innocent preschool. You will be terribly missed!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Father's Day Kid's Craft

 

I'm loving these canvas paintings the girls did for their grandfathers and Daddy. We placed stickers on the canvases first. Then the girls painted away. After the paint dried, I peeled off the stickers and viola, instant personalized art.
I can't show you the ones we did for Dan because he read this, but his messages from the girls are super cute. I also had them add their thumb prints to the back. What are you doing for the daddies in your life?
