Misc. Monday: Another First... Kindergarten Style!

It's so hard to believe that this day is already here! When I woke Lilly up this morning, she asked me if it was time to go. She is definitely more ready than I am. Yes, I did cry... but not the entire day. Parents were asked to stay today. We did center activities together, learned classroom procedures, and met the principal. Tomorrow, she is on her own. Lilly is beyond excited & loves her teacher already. I know there's nothing to worry about!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Photography

Hendricks

Iris
Lilly
When you have more than one child, it's super neat to see them all in the same clothes. We were given this bear outfit as a gift for Lilly, and it is so special to see all three babies wear it. I think it will be something I save. Maybe one day, they would want to take a picture of my future grandchildren in it... you never know!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Good Bye, Summer!

I am officially back to work. We are all adjusting. My new class is full of little sweat hearts, but I do miss the three beautiful faces that I leave behind in the morning. I feel very blessed to be working only three days this year. It is such a joy to be able to be home more with my babies. They won't be this young for long, and I don't want to miss a moment.

Misc. Monday: Another First

Before...

after.

Our little Miss Iris got her first haircut this weekend. It was time. Her hair was really uneven with a sweet duck tail in the back. She got to sit in the "Princess Chair" and have her hair braided and glittered. Wowza! I love how the littlest thing makes them so happy and proud.

Sew Crafty Saturday: Scrappy Tutu

I've made many tulle tutus my day, but this was my first fabric tutu. It was a fun and easy project. One of the tutorials I saw said the tutu could be spot cleaned, but not go in the washing machine. What? Does this person not have children? So, I used pinking shears to cut around the entire strip; now it won't fray in the wash. Then I attached them to some elastic with a slip knot. The girls helped me by sorting the long and short strips into piles, and putting them into ABC patterns. I am a Kindergarten teacher, after all!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Pretend City

At Pretend City in Irvine, you can...

work at the post office,
ride a train,

be an artist,

or a sushi chef,

go deep sea fishing,

star in a music video,

visit the beach,

drive a BMW,

or give your cousin a root canal!

Misc. Monday: Rice Krispy Sand Castle

The other day, the girls and I volunteered to bring something sweet to a little pool party, so we decided to make a rice krispy treat sand castle. (I read about spraying Pam into molds to make any shape out of rice krispy treats on Pinterest). We went to the Dollar Tree, picked up some sand castle molds, and went to work. We had a little extra room on our cookie sheet, so we made some waves out of marshmallows that I cut in half. I let the girls paint them with watered down blue food coloring and we sprinkled our ocean with blue sugar. It was a fun, easy food craft and was gobbled up by our friends in no time at all!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: 5 Months Young

Hendricks is 5 months old today! It's gone by so fast. He's definitely not a newborn; he hasn't been for a long time now, I guess. I mean, have you noticed how big the guy is? He is a super happy baby; he laughs all the time, loves to be tickled, and is really, really loud. He still wakes up at least once at night to eat, and is wearing 6 to 9 month clothes. He just started scooting backwards, and has a little bump in his gum where a tooth should be coming in pretty soon. He's just gorgeous; perfect really and he loves his mama.
