Sew Crafty Saturday: You Decide

Pink & Floral

Pink, Green & Floral

Green & Floral
I have been planning this quilt for awhile now and was always going to use the pink and green with the floral prints. However today, my sweet husband, informed me that he thinks it looks too busy with both bright colors and I should choose green or pink. Maybe he has a point... so now I need your help. Please let me leave me a comment and let me know which way to go. Thanks!

Misc. Monday: Easter Sunday

When her door opened, "This is my favorite part!"

"Haha!"

For Daddy.

What else is in here?

I love her!

Pretty girl.

Of course Iris wouldn't be in the picture unless I was holding her, maybe next year!

Next stop, Grandpa Mike & Grandma Sandy's in Chino.

Last stop, Whittier, where Dan's parents joined mine.

Brothers, sisters, and cousins.
Someone is ready to go home...
Hope you had a wonderful Easter with your loved ones!

You know I don't usually post this many photos, but with 300+, what's a mama to do?

Misc. Monday: Spring Sprucing Up

Boring Before.

Dan built the trellis' and stained them himself for 1/2 the price and  much better quality than we saw at
Home Depot. Gotta love a handy man!

I moved all the succulents from the front yard to these pots from Home Goods. The front yard got some traditional boxwood plants.

Beautiful After.

Sew Crafty Saturday: It's Almost Easter!

I made this wreath and the one below after watching the Martha Stewart show.

The always changing console table.

I love Easter! It is such a wonderful time of year when we celebrate the miracle of Jesus' resurrection. We grow up loving the Easter bunny, egg hunts, new dresses, and chocolate. We admire the new flowers and baby animals. We appreciate the coming of warmer weather. Easter is so much more than that. We would have none of those things without what Jesus did that glorious morning.Yes, we will decorate and hunt for eggs. Yes, the girls have pretty new dresses to wear. And yes, there will be chocolate! There will also be remembrance and thanksgiving for the ultimate gift that we all have been given if we only believe.

Misc. Monday: Dada's Tradition

When I realized I was having a little girl(s), I knew I would have to work hard to establish father-daughter traditions.  I decided every birthday needed to have one memory just for Daughter and Dada.  Every birthday my little girls and I go to Build a Bear to create someone special, and a new memory for the year.  Just the two of us.  I truly look forward to the date and the memory to fill me for the whole year.  This year Iris made a little monkee friend.  She was very proud and drug him all the way to the car.  She played "Row your boat" the whole car ride home.  All hail tradition. -Dan

Sew Crafty Saturday: Yummy!

Cooking can be so boring and mundane. I feel like I'm always making the same things. Lately, I've been having some fun making meals for the girls. The silly fruit, peanut butter faces were the first. The girls were pretty excited and surprised, so I wanted to try some more. Next, I made the bear in the woods (in the middle picture).  It got gobbled up real quick. Lilly loves broccoli...Iris not so much. I made a pretty cute robot, but he was destroyed before I got the camera out. I've also seen some really creative concoctions online. This may be my new obsession. Have you ever made creations with your food? Let me know, so we can give it a try.

Wee-Ones Wedensday: Help!!

Assessing the damage this morning

She's soooo excited to have a big girl bed.

Trying it out
I need some suggestions because I'm at a loss here. Sweet, baby Iris has now decided to take off her pajamas and diaper as soon as she wakes up. We've even dealt with one poopy diaper, and I will spare you the details! We should have known this was coming because she loves to undress her babies. It does not matter what kind of pajamas they are, Iris can get out of them. I thought about safety pinning the zipper on her footy pajamas, but she's so good with her hands that I'm pretty sure there would be blood. Last night, we decided to remove the crib rail, giving her a toddler bed. I figured she'd get up when she woke up  instead of playing around... Nope. No dice. We had a naked baby again this morning. We gave her a time out, but I'm pretty sure she thinks they are fun. She's so sneaky that we don't always know that she's awake in there, so think of something besides "go get her as soon as she wakes up" please. Tonight Dan wants to cut off the feet on her pjs and put them on backwards... you got anything else for us??
P. S. I'm happy to report that she slept through the night, did not fall out of her new bed, and we still love her!
P.P.S It is 5pm and I went in to wake her up from her nap and she was naked!!! Ugh. When does she do it? Does anyone have a video monitor we can borrow?
