Iris has been with us for exactly six months today. She has been such a joy! All you have to do is look at her to make her smile! Her hair is definitely red, and her eyes don't seem to be changing at all. She sleeps ten hours at night, talks up a storm, smiles constantly, chuckles loudly, blows noisily, rocks steadily, and rolls all over the place. Next up, crawling and rice cereal! Woohoo!

Misc. Monday: Apples, Apples
On Grand-parent's Day, we went to Oak Glen to pick apples with our parents. It was a new experience for us, and we want to go every year. We had that much fun! First, we stopped at this amazing petting zoo. Lilly got to hold a two week old piglet, and then proceeded to kiss and hug all the goats and sheep. Next, we picked some apples, which was an experience! But the best part was eating the giant apple pie we brought home. YUM!

Misc. Monday: Bettter Late Than Never
My sister, Penny, got married in January of this year and Lilly was a flower girl. Poor little thing had a fever and went to the doctor's the next day with an ear infection! Here are a few pictures of that special day. I can't believe how much she has changed in nine short months, and I was still pregnant with Iris!

Wee-One Wednesday: That's A Dancin' Move
Lilly is a mover and a shaker, just watch the vid...She claims Quentin and Brian taught her these moves, but I don't know. They seem kind of square. Lilly has been a lot of fun lately, and when we talk about pre-school she gets really excited. It is just around the corner and breaks our hearts. Our little girl is all grownsed up and she's all grownsed up. I have not even started saving for college or a wedding. Hold on Lilly, we are trying to keep up. Love, Dad

Sew Crafty Saturday: We Heart Grandparents
Tomorrow is Grand-parents day, so today we made dishtowels as small gifts. Lilly had a great time and was very cooperative. We couldn't get a picture of Iris doing her feet though, but let me tell you, the paint tickled her little toes. I look forward to many crafts to come. The girls LOVE their grandparents and have a special bond with each one. Grandma is known for baking, sleepovers, and the Beatles. Grandpa is famous for flying Lilly through the air. Grammy is a constant source of singing and dancing, and Papa is always up for going to the garden. Hugs and kisses to you all!!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Monday Bliss
I am off on Mondays and it is grand. This past Monday, Lilly, Iris, and I strolled around Michaels, had lunch at Wendy's, and bought a fish at Wal-mart. I suppose this all sounds awfully mundane, but it was actually pretty perfect. Lilly got scared (and even cried) by a life size, talking zombie at Michaels, which allowed me to cuddle and soothe her (something that never happens). When we checked out, she told the cashier all about the "grumpy guy" in the back of the store. Wendy's was awesome because we'd never been there before, and she kept thanking me for her "special lunch." Her awesome attitude is what led me to take her to get a new fish, which she promptly named, Wendy. Meanwhile, Baby Iris smiled or slept. These pictures were taken this same glorious day. After nap time, we went outside to blow bubbles, run around with a "mirror flag" (a.k.a. pinwheel), and play with the neighbors. I love my Mondays!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Long Over Due
Here are some before and after pics from outside Lilly's door. The previous owner of our home planned on putting in carpet and cut the doors accordingly. We left the hardwood, which resulted in a huge gap. Lilly's room is right by the living room, so we always stuffed that awful blue penguin blanket under the door. I can not believe it took it took me two years to come up with a better solution. Shame on me!

Wee-One Wednesday: Little Miss Manners
I often tease about Lilly’s boldness, loudness, and all around love for life. Lately, however my little outspoken toddler has turned into Little Miss Manners.
At Target to a complete stranger: “Hi, I’m Lilly. What’s your name?”
Lady: “Minnie.”
Lilly: “Nice to meet you.”
On the same trip, she sang Ring Around the Rosey and the ABC song as loud as she could smiling at everyone who looked her way.
When she wakes up to Grammy and Papa and we are at work: “Thank you for coming over.”
After they left: “I love you too. Please come over tomorrow.”
To me at the computer: “Excuse me Mommy, will you dance with me?”
To a salesman at the door: “Would you like to come in my house?”
After Dan BBQed dinner: “Did you make dinner, Daddy?”
Dan: “Yes, Lilly.”
Lilly: “Thank you for making dinner. It’s yummy.”

To Grandma: "Excuse me, can you come into my room?"
Iris fussing in her swing: "It’s ok, Baby Iris” and turns on the music for her.
The thank yous, excuse mes, and I love yous go on and on, so I guess she’s not that terrible of a two after all.
