Wee-Ones Wednesday: Va.Ca.Tion
8. Here we come, Fullerton!
7. Ahhh!
6. Can you buy me a doll that looks like her, Mom?
5. Some hotel fun.
4. We love Sea World!
3. Belugas are so precious, Mom!
We went on our first mini-vacation as a family this week in sunny San Diego. We had so much fun! First, we visited Seaport Village where we ate ice cream, played in fountains, talked to pirates, and rode a 100 year old carousel. After checking into our hotel, we went straight to the pool. The girls had a blast. The next day, we went to Sea World. Dan and I haven't been since we were kids and it was so neat to see how excited the girls were. Iris was such a trooper. This turned out to be the longest she had ever been awake in her entire life! We ordered a pizza at the hotel that night and went swimming again. Our last day there, we visited Old Town San Diego, shopped, admired the succulents, threw pennies in fountains, and ate some amazing Mexican food. It was a wonderful three days. We couldn't have asked for more.

Sew Crafty Saturday: Sooo Much Fun
fun we had at the good, ol' fair!
Here's a quilt I finished yesterday. (It's draped over the new fence Dan completed on the other side of our house). I also made two doll quilts that match from the left over fat quarters. I am finally confident in my binding abilities...practice makes perfect!
The girls spent the night at G.ma & G.pa's house last night, so Dan and I went to the OC fair with some friends and then to the Harbor House to eat at midnight! Can you believe it? This morning we woke up and Dan took me to the Renegade Craft Fair in Los Angeles. It was really fun and inspiring. I kept thinking, "I can make that!"

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Dive Baby Dive!
The last day of swim class, both girls went off the diving boards. It was hilarious to watch! Iris smiled the whole time she was "walking the plank." Baby girl had no idea what was coming. Lilly was excited, then had a moment of realization, then got excited again and screamed joyfully on her way down. She officially passed "Polliwogs 1" this year and continues to ask when we can go back to swim class. We are so proud!

Misc. Monday: Love
Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 (NLT)
Doesn't that sound wonderful?

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Happy Times
Dan's sister, her husband, and their two kids are down here for a week's vacation. We've been busy, enjoying family time. We've gone swimming at their hotel, BBQed twice, and went to Irvine Spectrum. Lilly had to go to the doctor's yesterday because she had a fever and slept only two hours the night before. Poor girl has a severe ear infection, so we had to back out of yesterday's plans. Last night, the four of us adults went to dinner at The Cellar Restaurant in Fullerton, where I drank some pretty fancy wine! Today, we all went to Disneyland. Lilly was a trooper. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it, but we didn't want to miss Uncle Ryan's first time! Everyone loved it. The little babies stayed through lunch, then Grammy took them home. The lines were short and the people were nice. We even went on the Michael's family favorite, "It's A Small World" twice. I haven't been there in July since I was a kid, so I expected the worst. It was a wonderful day. We were just very hot and tired by the end of it, but that's nothing a bath and bedtime can't fix!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: CSUF Swim
The girls are in their second week of swimming lessons at Cal State Fulleron. This is Lilly's 4th summer (we took her at 6 mos old)! She is absolutley loving it. She adores her teacher, Miss Jasmine, and says when she is a big girl she will dive off the high board. Iris is enjoying the "parent and me" class. She has a few boyfriends taking it with her, Adam and Jacob. She loves to splash and often pushes my hands away, as if she can swim alone...silly girl!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Productivity
We have been busy. I just got back from scrapbooking in Big Bear with 3 friends (I'm still behind, but did a lot) and I finished the kitchen curtains. The house was spotless and completely picked up when I got home. The dishwasher was empty and Dan took the girls to their swim lessons for the two days I was gone. He is also replacing the horrible chain link gate that we've had to look at for the past five years. It looks so pretty now! He works so hard. Right now, He's assembling chairs that I just bought for our 4th of July party tomorrow. I love my husband!
