Wee-Ones Wed: Fall, Really?
If you live in So. California, you know it was a scorcher this weekend. The record breaking heat was a crazy intro to autumn, so to celebrate we went to Mother's Beach with the Givens Family. I say "celebrate" because it is a big deal for our pasty clan to even make it to the beach. Dan's practically see through with his shirt off, and the sun makes my freckles pop. Our girls don't stand a chance! Yet, they love, absolutely adore.. the beach. I guess we'll have to go back!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Passing It On
I'm really trying to instill a bit of craftiness in my girls. Iris is a bit young, of course! But Lilly, is really getting it. She has made crafty cards for all of her little friend's birthdays and here are some stepping stones we recently made for Grandparent's Day! I can't wait for the day that I get to pass on my first Singer sewing machine to Lilly. I've already bought her this book, See and Sew: A Sewing Book for Children .I realize it's a little soon, but I was so excited when I saw it. I bought the cooking one too. Can you blame me?

Wee-Ones Wednesday: 5 Under 5!
How do you get 5 kids under 5 to sit still for a picture? Ask them, "Who wants a cupcake?" Our friends, Matt and Kelly, were out visiting from Indiana a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed catching up. It was amazing to see how much their boys have grown. Lilly was a little upset that they did not want to have a tea party or dress up, but she got over it as soon as we got outside. Time really flew and we look forward to the next time we get to see this super fun bunch!

Misc. Monday: Joyful Heart
"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior."
Habakkuk 3:17-18
We heard this passage at church yesterday and Dan and I were blown away with the author's perspective. What a joyful heart! We live in a fallen world. Bad things are going to happen to us in our lives. God loves us so much that he gives us free will; having faith in Him is up to us. I love the analogy of the proud husband who knows out of all the men in the world, his wife chose him. It wouldn't mean as much if she were programmed to love him. God wants us to choose him. Knowing that I will be in heaven someday in the perfect presence of my loving Father makes life's atrocities not only bearable, but insignificant. Now I just need to remember this when I am in the thick of it!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Sneak Peak
I got together with my crafty friends last night to eat pizza, drink wine, and do a bit of crafting for our upcoming craft boutique in October. It's going to be amazing! So many pretty things are in the works. Business cards, banners, and some serious plans are in the works. I look forward to sharing more with you as it gets closer.

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Back to School
Lilly was super happy to go back to preschool this morning. She hollered, "It's a school day!" at the top of her lungs when we were outside taking pictures and told me to be sure to get a picture of her with Iris, so sweet. She picked out her new dress all by herself at Old Navy and I made her the matching barrette last night. We read, The Kissing Hand and a few more books about going to preschool to prepare, but I don't think she needs those touching books as much as I do!

Misc. Monday: Photo Shoot
I wanted to show you a few pictures of our Fullerton Junior College photo shoot. I love this giant hand and love how it symbolizes that old song, "He's go the whole world in His hands." Dan and I were amazed when we told the girls that we were going to take this picture because Lilly asked if there would be water in the hand like there was the last time she was there. Our jaws dropped to the floor because she was only a year old! I wish my memory was that good!

I am super excited because my little birdie dresser makeover was listed on the" before and after" round up on one pretty thing and I have a little button down on the right to prove it!!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: Helmets, Anyone?
Iris climbed into the trunk of Lilly's tricycle all on her own. I just about had a heart attack (but not before I grabbed the camera, of course)! The girls think this is the best thing ever invented. I, on the other hand, can't shake the feeling that Iris is going to try to get off while Lilly is flying around a corner, and the Michael Family will wind up in the emergency room. I think we better put helmets on our Christmas lists this year!
