I cannot wait for summer! School gets out next Thursday! Can you believe it? I'm going to take some music classes with the girls, separately of course, and swimming lessons are planned as well. Lilly will go alone this year and Iris will get to do "parent & me." Love it!! We are also planning on having an open invitation for backyard-dinner Fridays and I really want to go to Sea World. Personally, I have many crafts planned. I need to finish two quilts from last summer and start some new ones. I want to make new kitchen curtains, and am chomping at the bit to try these two little projects! **Please take your time, summer. Do not be in such a big hurry to go away this year. I plan on taking advantage of you, my friend!

Wee-One Wednesday: Beachtime
Dan had an appointment in Dana Point Saturday morning, so the girls and I decided to tag along. After we dropped him off, I asked Lilly what she wanted to do and she said she wanted to go the beach. Now, I am not really a beach person... I mean, have you seen my skin? I'm afraid Iris will fry on the spot or get freckles in five minutes flat. Anyway, it was a nice cool day, so I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. We had so much fun. I was secretly proud of myself for attempting it alone. We didn't stay very long, but Lilly had a blast. She made "sand angels" (her idea, of course). I had a hat in the car, so my Iris did not melt. She even seemed to enjoy her first time. I avoided the beach all last summer, but I have a feeling we may end up there this summer and I think I'm OK with that!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary
How does our garden grow? Splendidly! This has been our best season yet and it's only just begun. The girls both love digging in the dirt. Did you notice Iris' feet? The sunflowers are taller than Lilly already. We can't wait for them to flower. Dan is basket weaving the tomatoes this year and we expect a very fruitful crop. We are eating strawberries everyday! The onions, beans, and carrots look very healthy and we had our first organic broccoli for dinner tonight (sauteed with garlic, shallots, olive oil & soy sauce). We even bought lady bugs from the nursery to eat the aphids. Releasing them was so much fun!
P.S. Many of you have shown concern about my situation at work. I will let you know Monday what's going on. I have to call my principal then. I'm OK...pretty happy, actually. It just came as a big shock. Love to you all and talk to you soon!

Wee-Ones Wednesday: My Joy
I endured a very difficult day at work today. I will explain later because I do not have the energy to do it now. With that said, I came home with a horrible migraine to two beautiful girls who were beyond happy to have their mommy home and a wonderful husband who not only made dinner, took the girls to get me Golden Spoon, and then put the girls to bed. Amazing! I now have some very interesting things to consider about my job, but really... who cares? My joy comes from my home, my family, and my God, and I couldn't be happier!

Sew Crafty Saturday: Finally...
I have been missing being creative. Open House and state testing at work, as well as birthdays and life with little ones at home have occupied much of my time lately. I have missed crafting, and reading, and Michelle time. I have literally started a notebook listing all of the sewing and craft projects I want to do. Today, Dan was sweet enough to watch the girls (again) so I could get away. He is so awesome! Anyway, my great friend Lisa and I took a crafting class @ Seed in Costa Mesa. It was called "Quick Crafts" and we made scented soy candles, jewelry, and felt hair clips and headbands. It was sooo much fun! You don't realize how much you miss a friend till you get to spend time with her. Life is weird like that.
P.S. I plan on making lots of these for gifts, so beware friends.
P.P.S. Doesn't Lilly make a wonderful model?

Misc. Monday: My Day
My Mother's Day was awesome! I was spoiled and loved all day long. Lilly told me, "Happy Muddor's Day" at least once an hour. It was so cute. We went to church in the morning, had breakfast with the Givens family, and dinner at Park Ave. with my parents. Yummy! The girls and Dan each got me their own cards. My sweet hubby spoiled me with this gorgeous necklace (figsandginger.com), a new, smaller L.A.M.B. bag, and some seashell accents from Pottery Barn. What a surprise. I love everything, but I have to say I love being a Mommy more! I hope your day was super special too.

Not everyone leaves comments on blogs, I get that. But many times I wonder, "Who is reading this?" I added a new element on the right of this blog. It's called "Followers" and it lets me know who is checking in on me every once and awhile. So if you are reading this, please let me know by clicking on the Followers button. You will make me so very happy!
